JUNE MINUTES
The June minutes were reviewed. Without a quorum they could not be approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Bob has temporarily volunteered to take on the responsibilities of the treasurer until another person is identified and nominated into the position. Currently there is a balance of $5716.90. Ralph was paid $135.00 for work on the website. MassPRA is waiting to receive approximately forty eight thousand dollars for the last three payments from Department of Mental Health for training. There are bills totaling twenty thousand dollars for mileage reimbursement and payment for trainers.
In brainstorming potential candidates to recruit as treasurer for the MassPRA board, below lists the criteria identified in the May MassPRA meeting:
A person interested in the role of treasurer of the MassPRA board would need to be meticulous with numbers, take time to ensure banking activity is reconciled each month, willing to share a report each month with the board. Experience in spreadsheets is beneficial, but not essential. Candidates need to be willing to learn how to use spreadsheets or learn Quicken. Other tasks that will be asked of the treasurer will be to identify how fast cash is coming in and out, and what the board is spending most of their money on and how much over time.
USPRA
Next year's UsPRA's conference will be held June 28th in Norfolk, Virginia.
CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
Paul created a scholarship application for those to complete when requesting assistance to attend the conference. It was decided that a face to face meeting with the conference committee, including anyone who was interested in helping out would meet either July 22nd or July 30th, depending which meeting time people preferred. The meeting will take place at the Vinfen Training Center at 35 Medford Street in Cambridge.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
There are two open seats on the MassPRA board. It was decided that Kerri would keep the email member list and an email interest list updated. This led into a conversation about future roles of each officer, which will be discussed at the next board meeting.
Brett was interested in taking on the role of planning upcoming regional conversations.
BrettÍs husband was willing to collaborate with Ralph to assist with the website.
TRAINING COMMITTEE
There was discussion of an increased interest in the CPRP certification with the ongoing trainings, but there is a lack of awareness of MassPRA. Maria talked about the need for more people on the training committee, another regional conversation focusing on the CPRP, and more promotion of the CPRP certification.
CURRICULUM
Pat Nemec finished completed and sent in an evaluation including rosters, a bill for the last payments, and positive feedback from students. The goal is to talk about the training at a DMH meeting. The challenge being in the summertime so many people are on vacation. Margaret has been informed the training project will be funded again, but in a different way, possibly combining areas. Recently, on a call with Maria, Margaret and Pat there was discussion of ways to carry out curriculum.
OTHER
Margaret is waiting for two more votes for the president elect position.
There was also some discussion of the date for the next board meeting to be September 5th or 19th. Margaret will send out an email to identify which meeting more people can attend.
